Bayou Index
About the Index
A fan-built field manual for Hunt: Showdown 1896 - every figure taken from the game's own files, rebuilt with every patch.
01 How the Bayou Index works
How the Bayou Index works
The Bayou Index is a field manual for Hunt: Showdown 1896 - the weapons catalogue today, with mechanics, enemies, maps and patch history being added section by section.
Every page is generated from the game's own shipped files - the same numbers the game itself runs on - and rebuilt with each patch, so the manual moves when the game moves.
Not an official Crytek site, not endorsed by Crytek, not affiliated with Crytek in any way. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a trademark of Crytek GmbH.
02 Where the numbers come from
Where the numbers come from
No figure on this site was retyped by a person. Static extractors read the shipped game files directly - stat tables, tuning curves, spawn registries - and write them into a versioned snapshot that records, beside every number, the file it came from.
The build behind the current corpus, as computed at build time:
- Game build
- 25198645
- Extracted
- Sep 11, 2026
- Sources
- 604 game files
A figure the files do not answer is left out rather than guessed at - and where the data itself carries a known uncertainty, the page says so.
03 Why this is not another wiki
Why this is not another wiki
Community wikis are written by hand, and a rebalance quietly turns them into lies - the table gets updated, the sentence beside it keeps the old number, and nothing anywhere fails.
The Index cannot drift like that. There is no hand-typed figure to go stale: when the game changes, extraction rebuilds the corpus, build-time checks confirm every derived claim still holds, and a page that no longer matches the data fails the build instead of shipping.

The Index is the reference half of a small family. Its sister, the Bayou Ledger, is the tracker - live player statistics for Hunt: Showdown 1896: MMR, match history, leaderboards, all the rolls a community keeps on itself.
News about both lands in the same places: Telegram and Discord.
